Limestone

Limestone

Limestone is calcareous sedimentary rock that forms at the floor of oceans and lakes. It accumulates shells, bones as well as other calcium rich materials. The heat and pressure under these conditions transform these sediments into compact. Re crystallisation results in nicely polished stone that is suitable for decorative purposes in buildings, especially in flooring, walls cladding, vanity tops among other application but not good for kitchen countertops since it is acid labile.
